Frequently Asked Questions
Paper Cutters
There are four types of MBM paper cutters:
- VRCUT Ready: Equipped with advanced software for precise automated cutting.
- Automatic: Fully automated cutting with minimal manual input.
- Semi-Automatic: Combines manual control with some automated features.
- Manual: Traditional hand-operated cutters for smaller tasks.
Triumph paper cutters are certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), ensuring they meet stringent global safety standards. In addition to UL certification, Triumph cutters are equipped with exclusive SCS safety features that enhance user safety. For more details, refer to the specific product pages or user manuals.
This issue can be caused by a couple of factors:
Dull Blade: A dull blade is the most common reason. It can compress the top sheet slightly during cutting, making it shorter than the bottom sheet.
Solution: Regularly sharpen your guillotine cutter blade to maintain clean, consistent cuts.
Cutting Stack Height: When cutting a thick stack of paper, even with a sharp blade, there can be slight variations in cut length. The pressure from the blade can compress the stack, leading to a difference in sheet size.
Solution: Reduce the stack height for more precise cuts, particularly if the blade may not be perfectly sharp.
- Enter Diagnostic Mode: Turn on the machine and ensure the touch screen is active. Lightly tap the screen under the letter “P” in the word "Priester" on the display. Then, press the spot (•) between the words “Start” and “Brightness line.” The screen should switch to service mode. If it doesn't, press "Stop" and try again.
- Gauge Correction: Follow the on-screen instructions to start the reference run. Once the reference is set, enter "10.00 cm" into the display and press "Start." Insert a sheet of paper and make a cut. Measure the cut paper and input the correct dimensions into the display. Press "Save" to store the measurement.
- Return to Normal Mode: Press the return button to go back to the normal display.
Paper Trimmers
There are four types of MBM paper trimmers and all have their unique features:
- Rotary: Uses a round blade that slides along a rail for precise and clean cuts, ideal for detailed work.
- Guillotine: Features a large blade that chops down in a single motion, perfect for cutting through multiple sheets at once.
- Table Top: Compact and portable, these trimmers are designed for smaller projects and can be used on any flat surface.
- Floor Model: Larger, heavy-duty trimmers designed for high-volume cutting tasks, typically found in professional or industrial settings.
Rotary paper trimmers are built for versatility. Beyond standard paper, they handle cardstock, photographs, laminated sheets, and thin plastic films with clean, precise results, making them a reliable choice for both office and creative workflows.
Yes, most rotary trimmers support multi-sheet cutting, though the number of sheets depends on the trimmer's capacity and the thickness of your materials. For occasional small stacks, a rotary trimmer handles the job well. For higher-volume cutting needs, a guillotine cutter is generally the more efficient option.

Air Purifiers
A HEPA filter (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) is a high-performance air filtration standard designed to capture 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. That includes dust, pollen, mold, and bacteria, making HEPA filtration one of the most effective solutions available for improving indoor air quality.
For peak performance, wipe down the top pre-filter mesh on your air purifier on a weekly basis. Regular cleaning prevents buildup and keeps your unit running at full efficiency.
Yes, running your air purifier continuously is perfectly fine and actually recommended. Keeping it on around the clock ensures airborne particles are filtered out consistently, maintaining cleaner air throughout the day. Just be sure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for filter maintenance and replacement to keep it operating at its best.
The frequency of filter replacement depends on the specific air purifier model and usage conditions. Generally, most filters should be replaced every 10 to 12 months. However, in environments with higher pollution levels, you may need to replace the filter more frequently. Always refer to the manufacturer's recommendations for your specific device.
Yes, air purifiers can be very effective in reducing allergy symptoms. They work by filtering out common allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold spores from the air, helping to create a cleaner environment that can alleviate allergic reactions. For the best results, choose an air purifier with a HEPA filter, which is designed to capture even the smallest allergen particles.
Bookletmakers
Yes, the Sprint 3000 supports corner stapling. To set it up, slide the right staple head to the right side striker plate and remove the staple from the left staple head. For full step-by-step instructions, refer to page 14 of the operation manual.
The iBooklet Maker is compatible with standard staples in two leg lengths: 1/4" and 3/8". Using the correct staple size ensures consistent, reliable binding results.
This is completely normal behavior. The machine requires a manual reset after the safety cover is opened. Simply press the reset button located beneath the power switch to get it running again. For more details, refer to page 12 of the operation manual.
Stapling and folding issues with a booklet maker are usually traced back to a few common causes. Start by checking that the staples are loaded properly and the staple heads are correctly aligned. Next, confirm the paper is positioned correctly and the paper guides are adjusted to match your paper size. If the issue continues, consult the troubleshooting section in your user manual or reach out to customer support for further assistance.
Paper Folders
1-year limited warranty, excluding wearables
The 1800S Paper Folder is versatile in accommodating different paper stocks, depending on whether the paper is creased or not.
- Uncreased Paper: The machine can handle paper up to 216 gsm (equivalent to 80 lb. cover stock) for uncreased folds.
- Creased Paper: For paper with pre-existing creases, the 1800S can manage thicker stock up to 270 gsm (around 100 lb. cover stock) but only for single (half) folds.
Important Note: When using heavier paper weights, especially with pre-existing creases, it's advisable to test with a small sample first to ensure the machine folds smoothly without causing jams.
The 408A Paper Folder is designed to handle paper stocks up to 120 gsm, including common types such as:
- 32 lb. bond paper
- 80 lb. offset paper
- 80 lb. text paper
However, the 408A is not suitable for cover stock, which generally exceeds 120 gsm in thickness and weight. Additionally, this machine may struggle with feeding and folding slick or glossy papers, particularly those with heavy toner coverage. For optimal performance, it’s best to avoid using 80 lb. gloss text paper.
The 508A Paper Folder is capable of comfortably handling paper stock up to 120 gsm, which includes common types such as:
- 32 lb. bond paper
- 80 lb. offset paper
- 80 lb. text paper
With careful adjustment of the tension settings, the 508A can also handle 80 lb. gloss stock, even with high toner coverage.
Different options are available for the 352S Paper Folder.
- Silencing cover for feed area
- Scoring wheel (broad)
- Perforation wheels (short, medium, long)
